Reviews and Content Policy
Last updated: date · Operator: Legal entity name (ABN ABN) ("Arys") | contact email
This policy explains how reviews, ratings, directory ranking and user content work on Arys. It is designed to follow the ACCC's guidance on online reviews and to avoid misleading consumers.
Part A — Reviews
1. Who can review
1.1 Only people who booked and attended a session with a coach can leave a review for that coach. This makes sure every review comes from a real customer.
1.2 A parent or guardian may review on behalf of a child under 15.
1.3 One review per athlete per organisation. You can update your review later.
2. What a review must be
2.1 Reviews must: (a) be your honest opinion of your own experience; (b) relate to the coach's services; and (c) follow our Community Guidelines.
2.2 Reviews must not:
(a) be fake, or written by the coach, their staff, family or competitors;
(b) be given in exchange for payment, discounts, free sessions or any other incentive;
(c) contain hate speech, threats, harassment or discrimination;
(d) include personal information about another person, especially a child;
(e) be defamatory or make false statements of fact; or
(f) contain spam, advertising or links.
3. What coaches must not do
3.1 Coaches must not:
(a) offer incentives for reviews, or only invite customers they expect to leave positive reviews;
(b) write or arrange fake reviews;
(c) pressure or threaten anyone to change or remove a review; or
(d) use contract terms to stop customers leaving honest reviews.
4. Coach replies
4.1 Coaches can reply publicly to any review once. Replies must be professional and follow these rules.
4.2 Replies must not reveal personal or health information about the athlete.
5. Reporting and removal
5.1 Anyone can report a review or reply using the Report button.
5.2 We do not remove genuine negative reviews. We only remove or edit a review if it breaches this policy, or if we are legally required to.
5.3 When we remove a review, we tell the reviewer why and give them a chance to post a compliant review.
5.4 A coach cannot pay to have a review removed or hidden.
6. How ratings are shown
6.1 A coach's rating is always shown with the number of reviews it is based on.
6.2 Reviews are shown most recent first by default. Users can sort them.
6.3 We display all published reviews, both positive and negative. We do not suppress reviews based on their rating.
Part B — Directory ranking
7. How "best match" works
7.1 The coach directory shows results by "best match". This ranking uses:
(a) rating, adjusted using a Bayesian method so that a coach with a few reviews does not outrank a coach with many consistent reviews;
(b) distance from your approximate location;
(c) verification status;
(d) availability of sessions; and
(e) reply speed to enquiries.
7.2 You can also sort or filter results in other ways.
7.3 No paid ranking. Coaches cannot pay for a higher position in "best match". Plan type (Starter or Pro) does not affect ranking.
7.4 If we ever sell featured placements, they will be clearly labelled as "Sponsored" or "Featured" and kept separate from organic results.
8. Verified badge
8.1 The "Verified" badge means the coach has passed identity, Working with Children Check, qualification and public liability insurance (A$10m+) checks. It is removed automatically when any check expires.
8.2 The badge is not an endorsement of coaching quality.
9. Performance statistics
9.1 Coach profiles may show a "median improvement" figure from skill-test results. It is only shown: (a) for athletes who consented; (b) as de-identified, aggregated data; and (c) once at least 10 athletes are included.
9.2 We will explain how the figure is calculated on the profile.
Part C — Content
10. Coach content
10.1 Coaches own their drills, videos and programs and license them to Arys to host and display. See the Coach Terms.
10.2 Arys owns the starter library.
10.3 You must not record, screen-record, download, copy or redistribute coach content. We apply screen-recording protection where devices allow it.
11. User uploads
11.1 Homework videos are private between the athlete (and parent) and the coaching staff, and are deleted after 90 days.
11.2 Content must not include nudity, sexual content, violence, or images of other children without parent consent.
12. Intellectual property complaints
12.1 If you believe content infringes your copyright, email contact email with details of the work, where it appears and your contact information. We will review and may remove it.
